Short Information : | WhatsApp developers might finally be bringing an important and interesting feature to the app, and this feature is related to the quality of the images that you share with your WhatsApp contacts. |
WhatsApp Would Soon Allow Sharing Images Without Compression As we all know, WhatsApp hasn’t allowed us to share photos in their original quality from the beginning, as it automatically compresses them, which sometimes makes photo sharing via WhatsApp a huge mess.
But this is going to be resolved with WhatsApp’s new feature, which is currently under its testing phase, as spotted in WhatsApp’s latest beta version.
As reported by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp has rolled out a new update in the beta program, and the new version 2.23.2.11 brought a new feature that allows you to share photos in their original quality.
We all know everyone prefers WhatsApp to share photos with their family and friends, but sometimes we require to share files in their original quality, and WhatsApp finally brings it.
This new feature is an addition to an already present quality set feature that comes out in some earlier beta versions 2.21.15.7, for Android.
This already present quality set feature allows you to choose a quality format for photos when you send them, and these options are “automatic“, “best quality“, and “data saver“.
WhatsApp Would Soon Allow Sharing Images Without Compression
Although WhatsApp already lets users pick between “automatic,” “best quality,” and “data saver,” the platform does not currently allow users to send photos in their original size and resolutions. Instead, these images are compressed — even when selecting “best quality” — to provide faster data transfers that take up less storage space.
WABetaInfo reports that WhatsApp is working on enabling sharing of photos in their original quality without any compression. The publication spotted the feature in testing in WhatsApp’s beta for Android 2.23.2.11.
When sharing pictures, a new setting icon in the drawing tool header will allow you to change the image quality to original before they are sent. The new option is unlikely to be available for videos.
WhatsApp Would Soon Allow Sharing Images Without Compression : in detail
As of now, we have the options to select Auto, Data-Saver, and Best Quality when sharing images. However, the difference in the last two modes is pretty minimal. Speaking of numbers, images shared with the Data-Saver mode are sent in 0.9 MP resolution, whereas images sent in the Best quality mode are in 1.4MP resolution. Images of such low quality are of no use in today’s world.
Currently, there is no information on when WhatsApp plans to add the ability to share high-quality photos to its app. Looking at the feature, it seems to be under development and will take its time before it is made available to the public.
